Pharmacists

What are pharmacists and what do they do?

Pharmacists work to dispense medicines safety, and they provide medical advice,

information, and counsel. They specialise with the chemistry and action of drugs and

their preparation and production for use in medicine.

How do you become a Pharmacist?

In the US, you typically spend two years studying at college, before completing four

academic years of professional pharmacy study. You are then awarded the Doctor of

Pharmacy degree (PharmD), and then you must get a license to practice, which entails

two exams.

Where do Pharmacists work?

Pharmacists tend to work in community settings, hospitals, or in industrial settings. It

is great as a STEM subject for that reason; you could work locally, in a lab, or in the

medical world too!

Job Outlook:

The average yearly salary for a pharmacist in the U.S is approximately $128,710. There is to

be an expected 3% decline in employment of pharmacists in the next eight years.
